The COVID-19 pandemic has spread with alarming speed, infecting millions, and bringing economic activity to a near-standstill as countries imposed tight restrictions on movement to halt the spread of the virus. As the health and human toll grows, the economic damage is already evident and represents the largest economic shock the world has experienced in decades. In just 6 short months, the world has become a very different place as coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has brought countries to a standstill, pushed hospital systems to the brink, and dragged the global economy into what may be the worst recession since World War II.
Regardless, the eCenters remain open to the public to bring ICT-enabled services to farmers, teachers, students, and other stakeholders, even in times of pandemic. To give due recognition to eCenters who continue to provide service to their communities despite the ongoing pandemic, the Philippine Community eCenter Network, Incorporated (PhilCeCNet) brings the PhilCeCNet Pandemic Resilience Award.
This national award gives recognition to eCenters all over the Philippines, offering public service to their community while overcoming these challenges. By sharing with the public how services of eCenters are delivered without compromising the health safety of the community and the center operatives, this award hopes to inspire other eCenters to continue to deliver their services despite the pandemic.
Three (3) eCenters will take home P15,000 cash and a plaque of recognition.
