The Philippine Community eCenter (CeC) Network or PhilCeCNET holds it’s the 15th Knowledge Exchange conference (KEC) virtually with a series of webinars from August 20 to November 26, 2020.
The KEC is an annual gathering of delegates and practitioners of Information and Communications Technology for Development (ICT4D) and Public Internet Access advocates which include Local Chief Executives, Knowledge Managers/Workers and other eCenter stakeholders in the country particularly Tech4ED Centers. It is considered to be a venue where networking is espoused, best practices on eCenter operations, services and applications are shared, ICT trends and updates are unveiled, and products are showcased.
With the theme “eCenters in the Digital Philippines for the New Normal,” this year’s conference adheres to the following objectives: 1) Setting a new national direction for eCenter operations; 2) Providing technical training for eCenter Knowledge Workers; 3) Showcasing the eCenters’ best practices and accomplishments despite the COVID-19 pandemic; 4) Sharing insights from various eCenter stakeholders; and 5) Granting national recognition for distinguished eCenters.
Aside from the virtual conference and trainings, KEC15 also features the PhilCeCNet Pandemic Resilience Award. This award aims to identify and recognize eCenters who deliver services that have a significant contribution to society despite the growing public health threat.
This webinar is in cooperation with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) with support from the UP Open University, the Philippine Council for Agriculture Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the DOST, the Local Governments of Tayabas, Quezon and San Remegio, Cebu, as well as the Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC).
