The annual search for Outstanding Tech4ED Centers is back!
Tech4ED Project Manager Maria Teresa M. Camba formally launched the nomination for the 2018 National Tech4ED Awards during the 13th Knowledge Exchange Conference, April 17, 2018 in Lingayen, Pangasinan. This contest seeks to recognize the best and exemplary practices of Tech4ED Centers in the country.
In 2017, seven (7) Tech4ED Centers were hailed as Outstanding centers for their meaningful impact and innovative service in delivering the ICT in the countryside. These Outstanding Centers were not only successful in bringing ICT-enabled contents and services to underserved and unserved community, more importantly, they were also successful in making a significant impact in terms of education, entrepreneurship, employment and economic development.
Only six (6) out of 2,000 Tech4ED Centers established nationwide will be hailed as 2018’s Outstanding Tech4ED Centers. And you can be one of them!
HOW TO JOIN?
- Download guidelines and nomination form
- Fill out the nomination form and prepare necessary attachments such as but not limited to 2-minute AVP, photos, success stories, website link
- Submit form and attachments to info.tech4ed@dict.gov.ph with subject caption 2018 NTA_< Tech4ED Center name> on or before June 30, 2018.
WINNERS AND PRIZES
All winners will receive:
- A plaque of recognition
- An ICT equipment,
- And will be entitled to waived fees for two (2) during Tech4ED Regional Conference.
CONTEST DURATION
The nomination process for this Contest will run from April 17 – June 30, 2018. The entries will then be subjected to a rigorous evaluation scheme by a panel selected by the Project Management Office.
The list of finalists will be revealed on July 6, 2018 which will also commence the 5-day online voting period for a special award thru our official Facebook Page.

AWARD CATEGORY
Below are the award categories and eligibilities of nominees:
- Outstanding Tech4ED Awards
- Must be a Tech4ED Center; Community eCenters and other Telecentre inititiatives that were converted into Tech4ED or utilize the project’s platform may also apply
- Must be operational during the nomination and awarding process
- Existing for at least 2 years and above
- Outstanding Tech4ED Awards Emerging Centers Category
- Must be a Tech4ED Center
- Must be operational during the nomination and awarding process
- Tech4ED Centers that are below 2 years old in existence
AWARD GUIDELINES
- The competition is open to all types of Tech4ED Center initiatives, currently active, in the Philippines.
- Nominated Tech4ED Centers must be operational during the entire application and awarding process. Otherwise, nominated entries will be disqualified.
- Only Tech4ED Centers that have been operational for at least two years and above at the time of nomination will be qualified to enter the Outstanding Tech4ED awards; Tech4ED Centers that are 2 years old and below shall submit nomination for the Emerging Center category.
- Entries for the competition will be based on nominations by an individual or an organization with sufficient knowledge to endorse the Tech4ED Center.
- Self-nominations will be accepted.
- A Tech4ED Center may only be nominated once. In cases of multiple nominations, only the first nomination entry will be accepted.
- For submissions, interested participants must submit a duly accomplished nomination form. Supporting materials such as pictures, brochures, news clippings and testimonials may also be submitted.
- Nominations should cover April 2016 – April 2018 accomplishments for Outstanding Tech4ED Center applicants while nominations for Emerging Tech4ED Center category should cover accomplishments since date of establishment.
- The contest will follow the criteria stated below. An online voting will be opened for the shortlisted entries where the Tech4ED Center with most number of likes and shares gained will receive the People’s Choice award.
- Only electronic submissions will be accepted. A 2-3 -minute AVP featuring the Center and its services is also preferred as a supporting attachment. Supporting documents must be consolidated and limited to a maximum of five (5) pages ONLY. For application and supporting documents, please use the following format: Font style, Calibri, font size 11, 1.5 paragraph spacing.
- The winners for the 2018 National Tech4ED Awards will be tapped as goodwill ambassadors and champions for the program. All finalists may be tapped to be speakers during regional/national conferences.
- Winners must remain operational for one year or until the next conduct of the Tech4ED Center Awards. Failure to do so may result to revocation of award title.
- All entries will be subject to validation by the organizers
- All validated entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges to be appointed by the PMO.
- Entries must be received by Tech4ED PMO on or before June 30, 2018 (Friday).
- By participating in the contest, the nominees grant the competition organizers the non-exclusive right to use, copy, adapt, transmit, distribute, publish and display submitted entries and other materials, applicable worldwide and in perpetuity.
- Winners of National Tech4ED Awards 2017 may no longer submit a nomination for this contest until 2 years after the award was given.
- The decision of the judges is final.
